Bryton - Christmas 2007

Bryton - Christmas 2007, originally uploaded by vidguy.

Just took a snapshot of my son in front of the tree for his “Christmas Photo.”

Strobist info - SB600 and SB26 pointing through shoot-through umbrellas — one high camera left and one low camera right. Low aperture to get the DOF effect with the tree in the background.

    Nice shot…

I find the dual flash to be distracting with 2 highlights in the eyes…

Do you think there is any way you could have gotten that good fill without dual flashes?
    Just wondering…

I kinda like the reflections myself, but I do see what you mean though. I was going for a very soft face look with a high and low light. In previous tests I had them in line with each other, but I staggered them a bit this time. Maybe I should try them square on. I actually kinda wished I had a 3rd light or reflector for the hair too. It’s pretty dark up top.
